Emotion focussed therapy is a treatment modality that points out how pathological patters of communication develop within a relationship. It consists of 3 stages. The first is to identify patterns of miscommunication, 2nd, have the couple become aware when they’re stuck in the non beneficial pattern and 3rd, teaches them to step out of the harmful pattern and interact differently.
